Care for Your Piece of Camp
The Adopt-a-Site program allows for units to help keep Camp Shenandoah running smoothly by adopting a campsite that they use when they come to camp for Summer Camp or Unit Camping.
Units agree to:
- Maintain the campsite to the specifications required by Camp
Shenandoah and the Virginia Headwaters Council. - Dedicate at least two weekends or eight (8) hours of work
annually to perform maintenance, repairs, and improvements
to their “adopted” campsite. - Understand and abide by the Terms and Conditions outlined in the Agreement which are in effect for one (1) year.
Virginia Headwaters Council agrees to:
- Recognize the unit with a sign posted in a prominent place in
the campsite. - Provide the unit with two camping weekends annually at
Camp Shenandoah during the “off-season” free of charge (or
that value credited towards rental of other facilities or cabins).
Recognize the unit with a sign posted in a prominent place in
the campsite. - Give the unit first-priority for use of their “adopted” campsite
during Scouts BSA Resident or Webelos Resident Camp.*
