Camp Shenandoah – Volunteer and Paid Seasonal Staff Interest Form

Begin your adventure at Camp Shenandoah! Consisting of 458 acres at the base of Little North Mountain in Swoope, VA, Camp Shenandoah has been providing to thousands of Scouts since 1950. Each summer we hire over 50 enthusiastic individuals to serve on our staff. This life-changing opportunity is a great way to spend a summer, learning and growing in the outdoors

If you think you would be a positive addition to our staff, we encourage you to complete this interest form. If you are 14 years old  and would like to be a Counselor-in-Training (CIT), please have a parent or guardian complete this Interest Form.

Senior staff, Junior Staff, and CIT positions are available. The sooner you apply, the sooner we can explore this opportunity.

Requirements for working on staff

  1. Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  2. Must Submit a complete application – using this form (if desired, you may attach a cover letter and resume)
  3. Provide contact information for three references (not required for returning staff)
  4. Must be or become a member of the Boy Scouts of America upon hiring
  5. Submit a current BSA Annual Health & Medical Record

Hiring Process

  1. Submit employment application including contact information for three references
  2. Completed applications (only those with references) will be reviewed
  3. Interviews will be conducted
  4. Pending positive results, employment paperwork will be sent to candidate and on-boarding process will begin
